Florine Olivia McCove, of Dover, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 30, 2018, in Kent General Hospital. She was 68. Florine was born November 17, 1949, in Norfolk, VA, to the late, William & Mary McCove.

She worked for Courtland Manor Nursing Home, and also for the James Williams Service Center, as a receptionist for many years. She gave her time to many charities, including “Toys for Tots”. Florine met Johnny Jackson in the 1980’s.

they were married February 16, 2002, and enjoyed doing things together such as taking road trips, fishing, and watching westerns. Florine loved to dress up. She was one of the sharpest dressers around Dover.

Her favorite color to dress up in was black. She also enjoyed music and dancing. One of her favorite things to do was go to yard sales.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her spouse Johnny Jackson. Florine is survived by 3 children, Debra Yoder & husband, Michael; Valerie McCove; and Mary P. “Ann” McCove; her step-daughter, Yashica Baynard; one brother, Marvin McCove, Sr.; 9 grandchildren, Alysha, Kenny, Kevin, Natasha, Johnny, Carl, Olivia, Verlon, and Allen; 6 great-grandchildren, a very special niece, Michele Brittingham; a special cousin, Lillie Reid; as well as a host of nephews, family, and friends.
