Floyd Edmonds, 79, of Trotwood OH, born to Beulah and Ransom Edmonds, the 6th of 8 children, passed away July 16, 2018 in Dayton, Ohio while recovering from cardio renal complications. Floyd was raised in Littleton, NC in a large and close nit family as a member of Fidelity Baptist Church. A self-described “country boy” he was educated in the Littleton Public School system.

Floyd performed well academically and athletically, he graduated from Mciver High School in 1957. Upon graduation he received training to work as a barber in Baltimore, MD and the South Bronx of NY. In 1963, while in New York he married his hometown sweet heart Juanita B. Newell, a union that lasted 46 years.

In 1967, Floyd relocated his family to Dayton, he completed an associate’s degree at Sinclair Community College, and as a member of local IUE-CWA he established a 30-year career as a skilled tradesman with General Motors while raising three sons. In addition, he invested in his wife’s Real Estate firm that eventually achieved a high volume of sales. Floyd was known for his dynamic since of humor, his willingness to help others, and a strong since of character earning him the respect of friends, neighbors and co-workers.

Preceded in death by his wife, Juanita and son, Michael. He is survived by sons, Alonzo and Matthew, as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held 9:00 am to 11:00 am Friday, July 20, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave.
