Frances “Mutch” Steinhardt, 100, died peacefully with family at her side at Anita’s Garden in Plymouth on Thursday, October 18, 2018 Frances was born in Kewaunee on March 12, 1918 to John and Frances (Witte) Hopp. She graduated from Valders High School in 1935. She married Herbert Steinhardt on June 8, 1940 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Mitchell.

They lived in Plymouth all their married life and were members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Frances belonged to the Christian Women’s Society and helped in the kitchen for funerals. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was a volunteer for many year at Rocky Knoll, the Senior Center and the Red Cross Blood Bank.

Frances was the best wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother in the world. Frances is survived by three sons, Robert (Susan) Steinhardt, Charles (Mary) Steinhardt and Steven (Cheryl) Steinhardt; three daughters, Patricia (Roger) Becker, Vicki (Marty) Goren and Debra (Tim) Corbin; her 14 grandchildren, Michael, Pamela, William, Tim, Doreen, Chad, Becky, Ashley, Elizabeth, Brad, Craig, Samantha, Trevor and Jodi; 31 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, her grandson, Jimmy, her sister, Margaret “Babe”, her brothers John, Louis, James and Mark, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A private family service was held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, which was appropriately Sweetest Day at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Service with Chaplain Pat Hennen officiating. Burial was in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff at Anita’s Garden and Heartland Hospice for the love and care they gave to Frances.

She thought of all of you as family as did her family.
