OBITUARY Frances Rebecca Greaves Miller December 6, 1932 – September 30, 2018 Frances Rebecca Greaves Miller, 85, of Sherwood, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 30, 2018. She was born December 6, 1932, in Asbury, Tennessee, to the late Edward Wiley and Cliffie Irene Greaves. Frances married James W. Miller, Sr., June 3, 1951, in Hernando, Mississippi.
Frances retired from Arkansas Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Company after 26 years of service in 1995. She rarely did anything without the love of her life, Jim. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, handwork, and art.
She was the family’s personal interior decorator, giving their homes and offices her “special touch”. Jim and Frances always had a large garden. In the summers the kitchen cabinets would be covered with canned tomatoes, pickles, green beans, and relishes, some winning ribbons at the Arkansas State Fair.
Jim and Frances also loved their country life in Vilonia with the ponds for fishing and the annual visits from the Canadian geeseese that sat at her feet while she sang “Amazing Grace”. When their children were younger the family spent most weekends on the lake camping and water skiing. Later she and Jim spent a lot of time traveling together and exploring new places.
Frances will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James W. Miller, Sr., her son, James W. Miller, Jr., of Dallas, Texas, and her daughter, Phyllis (Randy) Jones of Sherwood, Arkansas, two grandchildren, Michelle (Brad) Moore of Maumelle, Arkansas, and Colton Miller of Dallas Texas, two step-grandchildren, Kendall (Brandyn) Jones of Williston, North Carolina and Justin Jones of North Hollywood, California, and two great grandsons and two step-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sarah Louise Waller of Austin, Texas, and a niece who was like her sister, Sybil (Tom) Owen of Foley, Alabama, and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Wiley and Cliffie Irene Greaves, two sisters, Jennie Laura Greaves and Lizzie Fay Greaves, and two brothers, William Gilfred Greaves and Edward Wiley Greaves, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (www. nationalmssociety.org) to continue to fund research for a cure to the disease that her son and so many others continue to battle. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, with funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock.
