Obituary of Frances Rabey Frances L. Rabey, 85, of Middletown, NY, died Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. Frances was born April 25, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Ciaccio) Scaturro. She was married to Charles S. Rabey for 47 years before his passing.

For most of her adult life, she was a stay-at-home mom to her daughter and son. She returned to work when her children were in high school and retired from her office manager position to live out her golden years loving her family and being a “professional volunteer”. She worked hard for local many charities, but her favorite non-profit was Pets Alive in Middletown.

As the former President of the Resident Council at Park Manor Nursing Home where she lived for the last 8 years, she would sell cookies to help raise money for those organizations. Many who visited Park Manor will remember her as the “Cookie Lady”. No visitor or staff member could successfully pass her table without chatting and getting a cookie.

She had many friends at the nursing home, some left before her, some she is leaving behind. All of them were special to her in their own way. The family of Frances would like to thank the staff at Park Manor, all the nurses and aides who looked after, cared for and befriended her, especially, Susie and Anna.

If you knew Frances, then you knew she was generous to a fault. If she had something that she thought you needed, she gave it to you without hesitation. A happy face meant more to her than any possession.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Mary Bennis and husband Paul of New Hampton, NY, their daughter Bridgette Bennis; her son Thomas C. Rabey and wife Jeannine of Washingtonville, NY and their daughters Sydney, Lia and Reese Rabey. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 13 from 5:00 to 7:30 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:15 am on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY.

Burial will follow in the Orange County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY. Anyone who would like to reciprocate Frances’ Life of Generosity, please donate whatever you can to Pets Alive of Middletown Love you to the Moon and back, Mom.
