Francis Stewart Carr, 87 of Salem, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Salemhaven Nursing Center. He was born in Boston on May 25, 1931 to the late Myles and Gladys (Betts) Carr. Francis is survived by his wife, Eva Lillian Carr (Sirois), his sister, Gladys Sirois (Carr) and her husband Donald Sirois, his 9 children, Sharon Huffman and her husband Bill of Los Gatos, CA, Susan Noyes of Gardner, MA, Michael Carr and his wife Marilyn of Rochelle, IL, Daniel Carr and his wife Susan of Meriden, CT, Martha Dempski and her husband Chester of Sidney, ME, Naomi Bissonnette and her husband Michael of Salem, NH, Victoria Stuart and her husband Nathan of Elizabeth City, NC, and Peter Carr and his wife Crystal of Sherburne, NH, 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, Nathan Arthur Carr. Francis loved the Lord, and was a 56 year member of Andover Bible Chapel as a deacon, treasurer, and maintenance assistant. He was employed as a milk and bakery delivery man, as well as a 47 year employee of Wynwood Associates, where he built homes.

He had a great love of nature, and also loved to read. Memorial donations may be made in Francis’ name to The Nature Conservancy of Concord New Hampshire, 22 Bridge St, Concord, NH 03301 (nature.org) Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel.
