Obituary for Francis Stewart Hubbell Francis Stewart Hubbell October 6, 1931 – November 10, 2018 Francis Stewart Hubbell (Frank) passed away the morning of November 10, 2018. He is survived by his son, Francis Park Hubbell, daughter, Anne Hubbell, brother Paul E. Hubbell, sister-in-law Susie Hubbell and several nieces and nephews. Frank was a musician/band leader for many years.

Following his service in the U.S. Navy and graduation from the University of Miami, he formed and led “The Village Stompers”; known for the hit record “Washington Square”. During the 60’s , he traveled with his band throughout the U.S. and toured Canada and Japan. They played concerts, nightclubs, colleges, hotels, etc.

, and made recordings for Epic, Atlantic and Phillips. Appearances on T.V. included The Tonight Show, The Jimmy Dean Show, Hootenanny, On Broadway Tonight and the Mike Douglas Show. Since the 70’s he was established mainly in Miami, but also throughout other areas in Florida.

His bands included some of the finest musicians. He played several instruments, but he was known for being an outstanding Trumpet player. Frank was also an active member of the Miami Elks Club where he played with his band every Monday night and brought fun, music and happy times to its members.

We are all thankful for having had Frank in our lives for as long as we did and how blessed we all were for the memories we shared. A man of talent, intelligence, kindness, integrity, sense of humor, strength and love. Frank has left a positive imprint in our lives and hearts that we will cherish.

He will be missed by his family and friends. A life well lived, a great soul. His music will live forever on YouTube under his name “Frank Hubbell”!

He will be laid to rest on Monday, November 26, 2018, 1:15 PM, at the South Florida National Cemetery (Veterans cemetery) located in Palm Beach County in Lake Worth, Florida on State Road 7/US 441.
