Obituary of Francis Brown Francis H. Brown “Brownie” age 97, a 65 year resident of Media, Middletown Twp. , PA, died Thursday, November 8, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 22, 1921 in Franklin, PA.

Brownie graduated from Cranberry High School and the Spartan School of Aeronautics. Mr. Brown was a US Army Veteran during WWII, where he was awarded the European-African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 1 Silver Star and the Good Conduct Medal. After returning home from the military, Brownie was employed with Sun Oil Company working in research and development for 32 years.

He retired in 1983. Brownie was a member of Middletown Presbyterian Church. He was also active with the Prospect Masonic Lodge #578 F& AM.

Brownie enjoyed boating, fishing and woodworking. He was an avid hunter. Most of all, he was devoted to his home and family.

Son of the late Frank H. and Helen M. (Pyle) Brown; brother of the late Betty Jane B. Stange Survivors: Wife of 71 years: Irene C. Brown Daughters: Penny Brown-Martin (Bruce) and Margie B. Anthony (Frank) Granddaughters: Carrie L. Anthony and Lisa E. Anthony Sister: Jean B. Ballard Brother: Richard Brown Numerous nieces and nephews Services and Interment are private.
