Obituary for Frank A. Hrovat Frank A Hrovat, 84, long time resident of San Bernardino, passed away peacefully on Dec 15, 2018, with his loving partner Betty by his side. He was born March 5, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to George Andrews and Rose Hrovat. Frank served in the US Air Force for 20 years.
As a transportation supervisor, he was instrumental in building the runway at U-Tapao Air Force Base in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked for OmniTrans as a bus driver and supervisor for more than 27 years. Frank was an active member of the Redlands Masonic Lodge #300, as well as a longtime member of Westside Christian Church in Redlands.
He loved to golf, bowl, play poker with friends, and Bingo at San Manuel Casino. Frank is survived by his partner of 10 years, Betty L Baker, his grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob and Sarah Hrovat, stepdaughter Kate Malott. (Steve).
He will be missed by his favorite dog, Bitsy, who regularly visited him with Betty at Excelcare. Frank is predeceased by his beloved son, Michael Hrovat, and wife Bernice. Visitation will be held at: Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E Highland Ave.
, San Bernardino on Wednesday Jan 2, 2019 from 5:00 -7:00 pm with a Chapel service at Bobbitt’s on Jan 3, 2019 at 10:00 am. A reception will be held in the Courtyard reception room at Bobbitt’s following the service. Burial will be held at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside at 1:31 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Veterans charities, Cancer and American Heart Association.
