Obituary for Frank Francis Rosenberger Frank Francis Rosenberger II Born in Armourdale, Kansas on November 12, 1924, passed away on December 17, 2018 in Shelby Township, Michigan Predeceased by his older Sister, Rose Marie, he was the second child and only Son of Antoinette Skupa Rosenberger and Frank F. Rosenberger. Dad grew up loving the countryside of Kansas. A proud Veteran of the United States Navy, serving in WW II.
He was engaged in Airplane Mechanics and loved the opportunity to serve so much, he lied about his age to get in early. A true Patriot. He was on Ford Island when Pearl Harbor was bombed.
He saw and heard the planes as they flew over his barracks. He was Honorably discharged after 4 years of active duty. He spent an additional 2 years in the Reserves.
Dad worked at Wrigley Foods for many years as the Manager of the Meat Department as a leader and a butcher. Dad has always loved people and talking with them about their lives and families, because of this, he made an excellent person to work with employees and the public. After an early retirement Dad took his beautiful bride, Dolores and they enjoyed RV’ing all over the United States making friends wherever they went.
Oh the stories they shared. One of Dad’s favorite spots was Earp, California where they would go dune bugging in the dessert. This is where he fell in love with cacti.
Later this became a hobby of his. Once they visited Great Lakes Naval Base, where he took his training, ate in the mess hall and after that, they went roller skating together. In the early 2000’s Dad, along with Family, had an opportunity to visit the WW ll Memorial as they dedicated it.
There were several days of memories with other Navy Veterans. He actually reunited with one of his Shipmates. This was one of his favorite trips.
When Dad and Mom found a place they liked, they settled there for a season. They lived with the alligators in Louisiana, lived in Ocala Fl and their mode of transportation was a three wheel bike. They were always active and enjoyed life to it’s fullest.
Always ready for an adventure and opportunity to make new friends. They were long time members of St. Lawrence Church. The family takes comfort in knowing Dad is with the Lord, he is healed, he is whole.
Survived by his lovely Wife of 40 years, Dolores Lorraine, his Sister Kathryn F. Rasmussen, preceded in death by his Brother-in-Law (Donald James Rasmussen). His step-children, Larry (Deborah) Buckman, Janet (Tom) Meteer, Cindy (Jerry) Domagolski, Pat (Richard) Johnson. 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grand Children, 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
