Frank Honzu of Niles passed away on December 15, 2018 at 7:36 p.m. in his residence. He was 86. Mr. Honzu was born on February 15, 1932 in Foster, NE, the son of the late Frank Honzu.

He was an insurance investigator for over 30 years. Frank was of Protestant Faith. He was an accomplished song writer.

In 1962 Tommy Hunter recorded “Penny Wishes” one of Franks songs for Capital Records. Mr. Honzu enjoyed working on washers and dryers in his spare time. Most importantly he enjoyed hosting social events for family and friends.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Debra (Jim) Saxon of Stow, OH, and Beth (Ralph) Nolan of Warren; 5 sons, Robert (Patsy) Honzu of Sterling Heights, MI, Robert (Sue) Cover of Mineral Ridge, Richard Francis of Niles, David (Deb) Francis of Niles, Paul (Melissa) Francis of Niles; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. Frank is also survived by his former wife and care taker, Sandy Honzu of Girard. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a grandchild; a brother; 2 sisters.
