Obituary for Frank P. Vitale Sr. Of Westwood, in his 96th year, peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Husband of the late Theresa Russo and Priscilla Blue; beloved father of Jerry (Jackie) and Frank, Jr. (Cathy) Vitale; beloved Pap of Gina, Jerry (Courtney), Frank (Jennifer) Vitale; and great-grandpap of Maggie, Liam. and Finn Dugan; brother of Robert and the late Mario Vitale, Rosemarie Vitale, Theresa Gilbert, Anthony and Fred Vitale, and Eleanor Colicchie; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank was a US Army Air Force Veteran during WWII, and a member of the Greentree American Legion Post 823, the founder and owner of Vitale’s Hair Styling in Parkway Center and Foster Plaza for over 70 years, and an officer in the Local 20 Union of Barbers and Hairdressers. Also an avid swimmer, traveler, and most of all, loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation SUNDAY ONLY, 2-6:45 p.m. at the SCHEPNER – MCDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 165 Noble Ave. , Crafton. Blessing Service to be held 7 p.m. Sunday in the Church of the Nativity across the street from the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl. , Memphis, TN 38105-3678. A private family burial to be held later.
