Obituary for Fred Azar, Jr. Fred George Azar, Jr., age 86 of Conyers, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Sadie Azar. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Azar; daughter, Lori Sise; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark (Jackie) Azar, Louis (Judy) Azar, Doug (Karen) Azar; grandchildren, Chad (Melinda) Sise, Lorin (Cale) Detwiler, Nicole Sise, Ryan (Alyssa) Azar, Kelly (Rhett) Scott, Cody Azar, Brianna (Jamie Suggs, Chastity (Frankie) Ashby, Chris (Renee) Azar, Timothy (Haley) Azar; great-grandchildren, Waylon Sise, Wyatt Sise, Sophia, Morgan, Isabell, Kaelynn Azar, Riley Ashby, Mason Ashby, Payton Ashby, Carter Azar great-great-grandchildren, Carter Sise, Aarylnn Sise; brother and sister-in-law, Nick (Patty) Azar; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan (Ron) Caviness, Pat (Jimmy) Wheeler; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Fred was an accomplished drummer who played with The Atlanta Symphony band at 12 years old. Later, he played for the Third Army band at Ft. McPherson while serving in the Army.

He was the musical director for the Playboy Club in Atlanta for 7 years. Famous musicians he accompanied were Rowan and Martin, Dizzy Gillespie, Pat Boone, Sammy Davis, Jr., Buddy Rich, Johnny Mathis, Duke Ellington and many more. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church with Father Gabriel Tannous officiating; interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www. scotward.com.
