Freddie Dale Siphakis went Home in the early morning of May 20, 2019 to be reunited with his wife, Georgia. Fred was born in Merced, California on May 31, 1938, to Alexander and Thelma Joseph. He was the second of four children.

Fred’s father died when Fred was just a small child, and he always looked forward to meeting him again. He married Merri Jo Taylor at the age of 18, and they had five children together. He later married Georgia Weidow, and together they had fourteen children.

Fred loved his kids; they were his pride and joy. He enjoyed all the time he spent with them, even if it was just working side by side. He learned early on to work hard and to put his best foot forward.

These traits he carried with him all the way until the end of his life. He worked throughout the Bitterroot, but was happiest at home on his tractor. In addition to raising his family and working, he also was an active member of his community, where he served at different times of his life as Mayor, Fire Chief, and Head of the Road Department.

His dream was to make Pinesdale a better place, and he loved the people. Fred laid a strong foundation of morals for his family, always encouraging his kids to do right by others, and to love their families. His greatest achievement was his posterity.

He loved his grandkids and great grandkids. Fred is survived by his children Mark, Bill, Teresa, Carrie, Katie, Theodore, Micheal, Maggie, Stephen, Marilyn, Alexander, Joseph, and Kallie; along with his sister Diana and a brother, Mike. At the time of his passing, he had 66 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Georgia, his sons Freddie, Jason, Justin, Nicholas, his daughters Melanie and Lori, along with his parents and his brother Alec. There will be a funeral service on Saturday, May 25 at 10:00 in the Pinesdale Chapel. A family graveside interment will follow at the Pinesdale Cemetery.
