Fred’s Obituary Fred E. Meyers, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2019, at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, FL, with family at his side. He was born in Eugene, Oregon on September 12, 1937. He served in the Naval Reserve in the Anti-Submarine Squadron.

He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1963, and he obtained his MBA from Capital University in 1975. Fred enjoyed a career as an industrial engineer working at Boeing, Mattel, Los Angeles Times, Spalding, and Pendleton Tool. He ultimately became a professor in the Engineering Department at Southern Illinois University, authored several text books on the subjects of motion & time study and plant layout, and operated his own consulting company.

Fred loved his family, friends, adventure, travel, and golf. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary (Tuttle) Meyers of Sebring, FL, and his children: Fred L. Meyers (Lana) of Jasper, TN; Vicki Christian (Ron) of Fort Thomas, KY; Jeff S. Meyers (Deborah) of Bellevue, WA; and Michael J. Meyers (Deborah) of Murphy, TX. He was blessed with nine grandchildren: Justin, Brittany, Kirk, Taylor, David, Garrett, Katie, Caroline, and Connor; and a great-grandson, Camden.

A private family service is being planned.
