Obituary for Fred Ederer On Wednesday, December 26, 2018, Fred Ederer (92) of Bethesda, MD. Beloved husband of Hilda Tomar Ederer; devoted father of Judith, predeceased by his children, Julian and Susan; loving brother of the late Norbert Ederer and brother-in-law of Pearl “Bessie”. Survived by many loving relatives, friends, and colleagues.

Born in Vienna, Austria, Fred narrowly escaped the Nazis in 1939 with his parents and older brother. He served in the Navy, 1944-1946 and then earned a MA Degree in Statistics from American University. Fred worked in the Cancer, Heart, and Eye Institutes at NIH.

After retiring, Fred became the Senior Epidemiologist, EMMES Corporation in Rockville, MD. A chapel service will be held Sunday, December 30, 12:30 pm at Judean Memorial Gardens in Olney, MD.
