OBITUARY Fred Skinner December 28, 1925 – November 19, 2018 Fred Skinner, age 93, resident of Salem, Alabama, passed away on Monday, November 19,2018 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled at Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, Alabama on Friday, November 23, 2018, 2 p.m. with Reverend Mitchell Smith officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mr. Skinner, son of the late Griggs Skinner and Bertha Tharp Skinner, was born December 28, 1925 in Russell County, Alabama. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, L.J. Skinner; two great-granddaughters, Emily Reese and Indi Elise Mallory.

He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Mary Louise Skinner of Salem, Alabama; two daughters, Rebecca Bowen and her husband Colonel G. O. “Bud” Bowen of McDonough, Georgia and Gale Jones of Salem, Alabama; three grandchildren, Brian Lance Kelly and his wife Candace Kelly, Jessica Seegar, and LTC Angela Mallory and her husband CW2 Thomas Dax Mallory; five great-grandchildren, Walker Kelly, Kendyl Kelly, Charlie Mallory, Jaden Batts, and Jasmine Hall; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
