Fred Wallace Sparks, 88 of Port Orange, Florida, Formerly of Ashland, passed away Thursday, January 03, 2019 at Halifax Medical Center in Port Orange. Fred was born July 23, 1930 in Ashland to the late Fred Harold and Mary Belle Clemmons Sparks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Delores “Doris” McDowell Sparks and one sister Mary Lou Sparks.

Fred lived out his life fishing, Cheering for the Wildcats, spending time with family and leaving a lasting impression on the youngest of his Great Grandchildren who loved their Pop-Pop Dearly. Fred leaves behind two sons Edward Sparks (Geraldine) of Huntington, WV and Marty Sparks (Jennifer) of Port Orange, FL; two daughters Freda K. Pennington (J.P.) and Cindy Lou Clark (Tim) both of Port Orange, Fl; Four grandchildren Ed Sparks II, Jeremy Pennington, Zachary Sparks, Jessica Eaves ; Two Step Grand Daughters Rylee & Sydney Moudy; Four great grandchildren Austin Edward Sparks and Alexis Jo Sparks; Hazen Lee Pennington and Wilder Knox Eaves; A Nephew Bob Sparks, Wife Karen, Children Casey, Travis, Amanda and her Daughter Macey, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Pennington, Zachary Sparks, Chris McDowell, Josh Moore, Ed Sparks II and Bob Sparks; with Honorary Pallbearers John Pennington and Tim Clark. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, January 12th at Fairview Baptist Church in Westwood with Pastor Michael D. Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Dixon Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday January 11th from 6-8 at Caniff Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at 11:00 AM at the church. Online condolences may be left www.
