Freddie Wayne Byrd, 62, of Bringhurst, passed away suddenly Monday, May 20, 2019. He was born July 3, 1956 in Hayti, MO to Walter “Junior” and Nora Ann (Hampton) Byrd. He served in the United States Marines.

He married Ruth Ann Berry in 1984, she survives. Freddie was a handyman, and worked in Maintenance at Andersons in Delphi until his retirement in 2018. He then took a part time job at Indiana Beach.

He was an outdoorsman, enjoying camping, hunting, fishing at his pond and loved being around his family, especially his grandkids. Along with his wife, Freddie is survived by his sons, Levi (Janelle) Byrd of Flora and Kyle (Shay) Byrd of Idaville; sisters, Barbara White and Ethel Sapp; brothers, Walter, Glen, Kenneth, Leonard, Larry, and Elvis Byrd; and grandkids, Quinton, Maci, Mason, Cree, Casey, and Tyson Byrd. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Clara Asher, Pat Gaskins; and brothers, Orval, Vernon, Raymond, and Calvin Byrd.

Visitation will be held, Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4-7pm at Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora. A private family service and burial will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.
