OBITUARY Frederic “Fred” Tete Boyer III March 13, 1944 – September 12, 2018 It is with extreme sadness to announce that Frederic (Fred) Tete Boyer III passed away on September 12, 2018. Fred is preceded in death by his father, Frederic T. Boyer, II; mother, Arlene Murray Boyer and brother, Michael Powell Boyer. Fred is survived by son, Frederic T. Boyer, IV of Simi Valley, CA; daughter, Janna Boyer of Oak Park, CA; sister; Ellen Grace of Lake Forth, FL and one grandchild, Sydney Boyer of Moorpark, CA.

Fred was born on March 13, 1944 and grew up in Vista, CA on his parent’s poultry ranch. Fred was a gifted athlete and played basketball, baseball and football. Fred was especially talented as a basketball player.

Fred had multiple scholarships to play college basketball and accepted a scholarship to the University of Denver, CO. Fred also played basketball at the University of WA. Fred had a life long love of sports and attended many Clipper Games and various sporting events throughout the years.

Fred was an avid runner and ran in the New York and LA Marathons. Fred also loved to go to concerts and dine at fine restaurants. Fred touched the hearts and lives of those who knew him.

Fred was admired by many for being so kind, caring, generous and willing to help others. Fred was a devoted father and loved his children and granddaughter more than words can ever express. Fred did not miss one of his granddaughter’s basketball games in the four years she played at Oaks Christian.

Fred also attended Princeton University to watch her play basketball. Fred was highly respected in business and served as a mentor to many. Fred had a strong interest in wanting to help others succeed.

Fred has spent his career as a Chief Financial Officer and Board Member working for privately and publicly held organizations. Fred’s most recent CFO assignment was at Barbaras Development, Inc. Fred also served as a Board Member for C5LA for the last six years. Fred will be missed tremendously by many.

Their mission is to change the odds for high-potential teens from under red communities by inspiring them to pursue personal success, while preparing them for leadership roles in school, college, work and their communities.
