Obituary for Fred Hill Jr. Fred Hill, son of the late Deacon Fred and Gladys Hill, was born October 23, 1940 in Eldorado, AR and passed away on November 17, 2018 in Houston, TX. Fondly known as “Mr. Fred,” he was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ as a teenager. He completed his primary and secondary education in Eldorado and his higher education in Los Angeles, CA where he resided for 38 years prior to moving to Houston in 1999.
He retired in 1992 after a stellar career with IBM. Fred loved people and was a confidant to many. In addition to staying abreast of the news, he was a formidable card and dominoes player, as both family and friends can attest.
Fred was an avid golfer with a 6 handicap. He often could be found at the course helping others with “drives” or “putting strokes”. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Fred leaves to cherish his memory his loving and dedicated wife, Charlene Jackson of Houston, TX; son, Andre (Ebony); daughter, Jacquettea Perkins-Marshall (Wayne); granddaughters, Wynter, Katahna and Shielee; grandson, Treymel; brothers, Reverend Willie J. Hill (Martha) and Steven Jerome all of Los Angeles; sisters, Pinkie Hill-Robinson of North Carolina; and Mary Pelham (Joe Louis) of Chicago; a host of other friends and relatives. Fred was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Tamarra Jackson; parents, Fred and Gladys Hill; brothers, Raymond and Charles; and sisters, Barbara Ann, Imojene and Deborah. The family conveys their sincere gratitude for your prayers, words of encouragement and acts of kindness during this deeply difficult time.
