Fredric “Fred”‘s Obituary Fredric “Fred” R. Shoninger, 81 of Liverpool passed away peacefully on Wednesday at home. He was born in New Hartford, NY where he was raised and graduated high school. Fred continued his education at Syracuse University until enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.

After proudly serving his country, he came to Liverpool where he had resided since 1969. He retired as manager for Clark Music Company in Syracuse after 43 years of employment. Fred had a life-long love for tennis.

He was a member of the USTA and participated in many local tournaments. He volunteered his time with kids to help encourage youth tennis in the Syracuse area. Fred was also an avid fan of SU sports and the New York Yankees.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Sharon K. (Knaul) Shoninger of Liverpool, three daughters, Ina (John) Digangi of Belle Mead, NJ, Wendy (Michael) Sherman of Syracuse, Stephanie (Eric) Gay of Philadelphia, PA, step son, Geoffrey A. Hillick of Alexandria Bay, step daughter, Sherryl A. Gadoua of Amherst, NY, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister, Kay (Shoninger) Winnegrad of Costa Rica, and nephew, Scott Winnegrad. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11:00 am at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse with military honors.
