Fredrick “Paul” Walker, age 64, died Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Paul was born June 1, 1954 to Edward Phillips Walker and Blanche Akin Walker. He was the youngest of four children.

Paul was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee and a graduate of Whitehaven High School class of 1972. He was a successful entrepreneur who enjoyed working, especially when his son joined him as partner of Southern Distributors and Bud’s Car Wash and Laundromat. He worked hard to provide for his children and taught them to be proud of a job well done.

He was a self-made man with the ability to fix almost anything. Paul loved his hometown. He was generous with his time and nothing pleased him more than helping his family and friends.

He was humble and kind, never expecting anything in return. Paul will be remembered as a faithful and beloved member of First Presbyterian Church of Memphis. He enjoyed a good rack of barbeque ribs and was quite the grill master himself.

Anyone was welcome at his table. Paul was preceded in death by his father, Edward Phillips Walker and his sister Carol Ann Walker Snowden. He is survived by his beloved children, Laura Walker Warford (Russ) of Cove, Texas and Phillips Walker (Jewel) of Memphis, brother Terry Walker, sister Phyllis Walker, mother Blanche Walker, and grandchildren Bethany, Sarah Jane, and Sam Warford and Phillips Gene Walker as well as his closest friend and surrogate family member, Charles Taylor and many family and friends.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2018 until service begins at 10:30 a.m. at High Point Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation Inc. or Memphis Church Health Center.
