To the parents of Free Kiree Layton: God will take that dark hour and use it to launch you into a new level of your destiny. What you’ve lost is not the end; it’s a new beginning. He doesn’t waste anything.

It’s preparing you for where He’s taking you. He has beauty for those ashes. You haven’t seen your best days.

He’s about to scare you again. He’s about to bring new opportunities, new relationships, things so amazing that you feel intimidated. Don’t shrink back; step into the new.

God wants you to dream again, to laugh again, to love again, to believe again. It’s in the scary place. Trust and believe she’s in a better place.

Surviving Free is Mother; Lisa Turner. Father; Jarrell Layton. Free’s four sisters; Jolisa, Jarhonda, Markesia, and Yolanda.

Also her six brothers; Bray, Marketis, Jonathan, Josiah, Jeremiah, & Joseph. Grandparents Joyce and John Lewis, Gracie and Micheal Morris, and Charlie Turner. Followed to heaven by her heavenly resting Grandmother Rhonda Layton.

Poem by Mother Lisa Turner “Unprepared” Don’t want to let go. This pain is so hard and slow. Wanting you to stay here with me, but God said No.

My heart hurts and my soul cries. My lip mourns your loss and my eyes are filled with cries. I’m confused right now, I don’t know where my strength lies.

Do I stand up tall dry my eye and just accept you being here for a while? Do I just tell myself you’re my heaven sent angel who was just suppose to pass by? Why do I have to accept this?

Why am I not allowed to ask WHY? People always just expect people to roll over and just die. They’ll tell you anything, even a lie, to get you to accept life and death and just be quiet.

But they don’t know your hurt so let me go out in a tearful riot. Let me mourn my loss, how dare you expect me to be silent. Until you have answers, don’t question my actions, even if you think I’m acting without ration.

This is my deceased child and I, I need no “CAPTION”. It’s not here for sympathy or empathy so I’m not looking for a reaction. I’m just not ready to let go, and I won’t be especially not when YOU think It’s time for me to do so!
