Gaetano’s Obituary ANSELMO, Gaetano – of Davison, age 92, our loving father passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 PM Monday, May 6, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr.

Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Entombment will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Saturday and Sunday, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd.

, Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. A Scripture Service will be held 7 PM and followed by a Rosary on Sunday at the funeral home.

Gaetano was born in Monreale, Sicily, Italy on May 16, 1926, son of the late Salvatore and Benedetta (Attardo) Anselmo. He married Audrey Saunders and after 58 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on March 17, 2019. Gaetano was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

He served with the Police Branch of Italy’s Military for 15 years as a Carabinieri for NATO in Naples, Italy. Gaetano retired in 1988 from General Motors V8 Engine Plant with 28 years of service. Gaetano was very devoted to his family.

He had unconditional love for his family. He will be remembered for his kind and generous ways. Sunday dinner was a tradition in the Anselmo household, with Gaetano sitting at the head of the table.

He had a passion for cooking, making bread, and sharing it with his family and friends. Gaetano spent countless hours in his garden, and enjoyed spending time at his home in Houghton Lake. Gaetano is survived by his devoted children, Marisa Jackson, Michelle Anselmo, Maria (Paul) Schubring and Guy (Joyce) Anselmo; grandchildren, Marisa Hughey, Gaetano (Kristin) Anselmo, Alexandrea Schubring, Aubrey (Steve) Ehrke and Hannah Schubring; great-grandchildren, Cruz Anselmo, Marisa Hughey, Cade Anselmo and Baby Ehrke; sisters, Vita Zuccaro, Nina Modica, Antonia (Ernesto) Spinnato, Giuseppa Badagliacca; sister-in-law, Barbara Allen; many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Messina Spinnato; brother, Isidoro Anselmo; sisters-in-law, Rosalia Anselmo, Nita Anselmo; brothers-in-law, Castrenze Zuccaro, Clarence Allen, Gaetano Badagliacca, Espano Spinnato, Pedro Modica.
