Gail D. Foote, 79, of Kalamazoo formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at her home in Kalamazoo. Gail was born on November 14, 1939 in Remus, the daughter of Morris and Carmel B. (Shedell) Leiter. After high school she attended Montcalm Community College and later graduated with High Honors from Michigan State University, majoring in English with a minor in Drama, and later receiving her Master degree.

After college she went on to teach at Belding High School for over 32 years. She participated on the golf league, tennis league, many committees and clubs dealing with Teachers Union and Students. Gail is loved and survived by her children; Robert (Michelle) Foote of Fenwick, Jeffery D. Foote of Belding and Christine Gayle (Jeff) Winter of Kalamazoo, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and sister and brother-in-law; Barb (Roy) Larzelere of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Ward, Mitchell and Russel, two sisters; Mabel McCombs and Beverly Taylor. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Johnson Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Byron Davey officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Saturday December 8, 2018 at the funeral home.

Committal prayers will follow in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
