Gail Watkins Squires, 69, of the Oostanaula Community, lost her battle with cancer following several years of cancer therapy. She was born on July 13, 1949, daughter of the late Hines Watkins and Elvenia Weaver Watkins of the Red Bud Community. Gail attended Red Bud School until her graduation in 1967.

She married the late Martin C. Squires in 1969, and they resided on Cash Road in the Red Bud Community for thirty-four years before moving to the Oostanaula Community. Gail is survived by her two children, Robyn Squires Williams and her husband Greg, and Rodney Martin Squires and his wife Susan; three special grandsons, Landon Williams, who is serving in the US Navy since March, 2018, Dylan Williams, who is a Senior at Sonoraville High School, and Raiden Squires, who attends Calhoun Primary School; and uncles and aunt, Sala Weaver and his wife Lela Mae, and C.L. Weaver. Brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and several cousins of the Weaver and Watkins families also survive.

A Memorial Service for Gail Watkins Squires will be held Saturday, November 17th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Hunt, Rev. Lamar Bearden, and Rev.

Greg Williams officiating. Music will be arranged by Sammy Watkins, Gregory Weaver, and the Pleasant Hill Choir. First cousins of the Weaver and Watkins families will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the service hour of 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, at www. cancer.org.
