Garnet Rose Meinders. Age 98. Passed peacefully at her home in Cincinnati on Tuesday September 18, 2018.

Devoted wife of the late William B. Meinders Sr. Beloved mother of Blake Meinders of New Orleans, LA, Rosemary Meinders of Cincinnati, OH, Nell Rapport (Mike Oleksak) of Suburban Cleveland, OH and the late Grant Meinders. Cherished grandmother of Polly Ann Meinders of Portland, ME, Angela Dee Meinders Tate (Mike) of Memphis, TN and great grandmother of Matthew Tate. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, church family, friends and neighbors.

Garnet was a native of Wolfe County, Kentucky, graduated from the Hazel Green Academy, Morehead State Teachers College and the University of Cincinnati. A retired Kindergarten Teacher from Cincinnati Public Schools and a longtime member of Western Hills Church of Christ. Garnet had many interests over the course of her life time including sewing, quilting, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at the Western Hills Church of Christ Church, 5064 Sidney Rd. , Cincinnati, OH 45238. During the visitation hour’s family and friends are also welcome to enjoy food and fellowship with the family until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:30 PM.
