KENDALL, Garrett Donovan, born August 21, 1970, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018. Garrett graduated from Trotwood Madison High School and the Montgomery County Joint Vocational School in Commercial Art in 1989. He attended the Cincinnati School of Art.

Garrett graduated from the Dayton Barber School in 1993 and was a licensed professional barber for many years in Dayton, until he moved to Bratenahl, Ohio in 2013. Although the injury that occurred in 2007 by an attack prevented Garrett from working in his true profession as a barber, he continued to work until his death. He was a diligent, reliable hard worker that was loved by all.

He rarely took time off from work and was a conscientious worker. Garrett was a member of Mt. Zion Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was a talented artist and continued to bless family members with his beautiful designs that were personally inspired greeting cards. Not only did family look forward to receiving the cards, Garrett enjoyed creating the cards. Garrett’s sense of fashion was an extension of his artistic ability.

For example, his clothing had to match. In fact, Garrett made sure to have matching hats and sneakers; all color coordinated. He also enjoyed wearing jewelry.

Preceded in death by this father, Roger William Kendall and his grandparents, Elease and Ernest Garrett, and Mattie and Robert Kendall. He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Effie Garrett Kendall of Bratenahl; sister, Dr. Melissa (Grady) Burrows of Cleveland; daughters, Paige Kendall of Cleveland and Taylor Kendall of Dayton; grandchildren, Tyler and Trinitee Kendall of Dayton; nephews, Ian Burrows and Carson Burrows. He will be missed by family and friends including: aunts, Mae Grant, Margaret Campbell; uncle, Louis Kendall; special aunt, Alice Reid; special cousins, Michael Garrett, Roland Garrett, Christopher Campbell, and Dohn Ward; additional Garrett and Kendall cousins, special friends, Demil Joyce, Dwight Freeman, Dave Moore, and Gloria Burrows, along with a host of other family and friends.
