Gary Dearmond “Coonhunter” Hogan, 69, of Sylvan Springs, was born December 14, 1949, and passed away January 19, 2019. Gary retired from US Steel after 30 years of service. He loved hunting, fishing, and riding horses.

He loved spending time with his family and friends. He is a member of First United Methodist Church, Sylvan Springs, AL. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Coye and Theda Hogan; son Justin Hogan; and sister Sharon Hogan.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years Cynthia Hogan; son Jonathan Hogan (Becky); sister Annette Bridier; many nieces, nephews, and friends. The visitation will be from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM, Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 6:30 PM at the Funeral Home, with Rev.
