OBITUARY Gary “Frank” Venz October 18, 1951 – January 14, 2019 Surrounded by his family, Gary “Frank” (Bubba) Venz at the age of 67, was unexpectedly called by our Father in Heaven to return to his eternal home and family. Frank was born on October 18th, 1951, to Oliver Hoyt Venz and Audrey Joyce Andersen. He was the oldest sibling of 3 loving sisters and 1 brother.

As a young boy, he loved to play baseball on his Dad’s baseball team. (Unbeknownst to him, he had played on his future father-in-law’s team as well). After his dad passed, he joined the Marines and it was there he received his GED and learned how to weld.

He worked for J&S Mechanical as a skilled welder and plumber for 26 years after that. In that time he had 2 sons, Jamie who was born August 4th, 1973, and Beau, who was born June 4th, 1979. It was about a decade later when he met the love of his life Cindy Andersen at Valley Lounge in Kearns, Utah.

They didn’t start dating right away, but in September of 1992 they went on their first date at the Utah State fair and it was there where they realized they needed to spend the rest of their lives together. They were married almost 3 months later on November 27th, 1992, and later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS temple on August 22nd, 2014. Two years after that, on July 28th, 1994, they gave birth to twin girls, Ashley and Shaley.

The rest of his life he spent happily with his family. Frank was the best example of a perfect man. He would give the shirt off his back and his last dollar to anyone if he was asked for help.

He cared more about his family’s happiness than anything in the world. Whenever he was asked if he wanted anything, he always said, as long as his family is happy, he has everything a man could ever want. There is no word to describe how selfless he was with anyone he met in his life.

We are very blessed to have him watching over us from above. He is free from all pain and suffering, and celebrating his new eternal journey with his mother and father and loved ones. Frank is survived by his wife Cindy, sons Bruce James Andrews and Beau Oliver Venz, daughters Ashley (Lucas) Agee and Shaley (Jonathan) Owens, sisters Ruth Montoya, Kathy (David) Fike, Carrie (Kurt) Holms, Sharen (Dave) Jorgensen, Laurie Andersen, and brothers Aaron (Cindy) Venz and Bob (Sheila) Andersen, aunt Norma McConnell and uncle Lloyd Andersen.

He is preceded in death by: Oliver Hoyt Venz (dad); Audrey Joyce Venz Brotherson (mom); grandparents and aunts and uncles. Viewings will be held Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Valley View Funeral Home 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah and on Friday, January 18 at 12:00-12:45 pm at Valley View Funeral Home. Funeral Services held Friday, January 18 at 1:00 pm at Valley View Funeral Home.
