Gary Lee October 11, 1943 – May 18, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Gary Lee, 75, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. Gary lived most of his life in Richmond Hill. He worked for the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department for many years before working for the Richmond Hill Police Department until his retirement.

He enjoyed racing on dirt tracks and watching racing on TV. He had a love for dogs and for telling stories. His quick wit was often on display in any conversation.

His sense of humor demanded a laugh and lifted any spirit. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Sutton Lee; and mother, Virginia Lee. He is survived by his children, Douglas Lee and Kimberly Lee Mason (Craig); granddaughter, Heather Mason; family friend, Lisa Long; and several other family members.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Burial will follow at Richmond Hill First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to Cedar Animal Hospital, 150 Cedar Street, Richmond Hill, GA 31324 to help pay vet bills for people in need of care for their pets, to the Richmond Hill Police Spouses Association, 120 Richard Davis Drive, Richmond Hill, GA 31324, or to the Two Hundred Club of the Coastal Empire at www. twohundredclub.org. Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
