Gary Lee Sayre November 07, 1968 – January 19, 2019 Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Gary Lee Sayre, 50, of Letart, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 19, 2019, following a brief illness. He was born November 7, 1968, in Gallipolis, OH, a son of the late Thomas Lewis Sayre and Louease (Stone) Sayre of Letart. Gary was a graduate of Wahama High School and West Virginia Institute of Technology.

He was employed as a teacher for Putnam County Schools, was a member of First Baptist Church of Mason, and a member of the New Haven and Community Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, camping, tractor pulls and spending time with family. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Matthew David Sayre.

He is survived by his sons, Carl Thomas Sayre and Jay Michael Sayre of Letart; mother, Louease Sayre of Letart; a sister, Carla Renee (Robert) Grady of Letart; one brother, Michael Thomas (Jennifer) Sayre of Fredericksburg, VA; a niece, Hannah Renee Sayre; and nephews, Evan Robert Grady and Elijah Nicholas Grady. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Main Street Baptist Church in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Robert Grady officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Letart.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant. Condolences may be expressed to the family and memories may be shared by visiting www. wilcoxenfuneralhome.com.
