Gary “Joe” Leggett, 68, of Wyoming passed away on February 27, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Per his wishes cremation has taken place. Lahey and Dawson Funeral Services are assisting the family at this time.

Joe was born on July 19, 1950 to Kenneth and Evelyn (Thompson) Leggett in Iowa. He graduated from Midland High School in 1968. He faithfully and honorably served in the United States Navy.

He worked with FOP helping fund Shop with a Cop and several police departments for over 28 years. He was a member of the Wyoming American Legion. Joe loved to have fun; he enjoyed going to the river, cooking out and socializing with friends.

He is survived by his sister-in-law Judy Leggett of Urbandale and close friends Mike (Kathy) Brownell. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother James and brother Jerry. Memorials may be directed to the family in his honor.
