Gatsie Lambert Ryder August 22, 1925 – January 02, 2019 Share this obituary Local Florists Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Gatsie Lambert Ryder, age 93 of Frisco City, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Englewood Health Care Facility. Mrs. Ryder was born in Baldwin County but had lived most of her life in Monroe County, Alabama. She graduated from Monroe County High School in 1943 and was a cheerleader during her high school years.

Mrs. Ryder worked with Frisco City High School as a secretary for a short time. She entered a career in banking as an assistant cashier at Peoples Bank in Frisco City (which is now United Bank) in the summer of 1957 and continued her career with United Bank until retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Frisco City where she was active in the WMU group and the Bethlehem Baptist Association.

She was also a member of the Monroe County Women’s Club. Mrs. Ryder is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Andrew Lambert and Zeba Sawyer Lambert; two daughters, Sandra Marie Ryder and Shelia Ryder Hanks; two sisters, Garilyn Lambert Chavers and Elsie Lambert Hanks; one brother, Quentin Lambert; and one granddaughter, Azure Musson. Survivors include her son, Rex Quentin Ryder and wife Kathy of Frisco City; two daughters, Gloria Ryder Musson and husband Wayne of Frisco City and Hilda Ryder Parker and husband Billy of Dothan; one sister, Faye Lambert Taylor of Frisco City; ten grandchildren, Adam Ryder, Beth Shavers and husband Kevin, Amber Alaniz and husband Benny, Allison Honea and husband Shea, Joshua Ryder, Hope Reed and husband Tim, Holly Ryder, Andy Hanks, Bradley Parker, and Gatsie Hanks; twelve great grandchildren, Katie Moman, Kaylee Sampson, Taylor Nettles and husband Justin, Dallas White, Lexie Ryder, J.T. Alaniz, Karli Alaniz, Ryder Reed, Amy Hanks, Aubrey Hanks, Gaige Parker, and Trevor Parker; and two great-great grandchildren.

A private graveside service was conducted for the family. Memorial services for family and friends will be Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Frisco City with Rev. Mark McCullough officiating.
