She served as the Head Nurse in Labor and Delivery at Spartanburg General Hospital before transitioning to industrial nursing and retiring from both Abbott Laboratories and Owens-Corning Fiberglass. A devoted member of Gravely Memorial United Methodist Church, Gaye attended the Fellowship Sunday School Class and loved participating in the church choir.
