Gearldine Mae Neil, 77, of Moyers, W.Va. , went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 11, 2018 at her home. She was born February 2, 1941 in Moyers, a daughter of the late Dewey Marcelles and Shirley Ruth (Hoover) Jamison.

Gearldine was a charter member of McDowell Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Her favorite pastimes were gardening and spending time with her family and large circle of friends. She retired as a home health caregiver and was known by many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Wade Hamilton Neil, on February 5, 1971; two nephews, Greg Jamison and Charles Reed Fleisher, four siblings, Delmas Clyde Jamison, Anna Lynn Fleisher, Charles Henry Jamison, and Maxine Fae Huffman. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry L. and Kristine Neil of Vancouver, Washington; Ricky E. and Denise of Sugar Grove; four grandchildren, Rachel Neil of Vancouver, Washington, Jason Neil of Osaka, Japan, Mallory Bowers and husband, Justin, of Franklin, and Chad Neil of Martinsburg; one great-grandchild, Bristol; two brothers, Arlin Dale Jamison and wife, Freda and Gary Lee Jamison, all of Franklin; very special “sisters”, Glenna Neil of McDowell, Va. and Shirley Whitelaw of Winchester, Va.

; four special caregivers, Kay Smith, Patricia Warner, Michael Shepke and Sandra Tichenor; six nephews, Dennis Jamison, David Jamison, Steven Jamison, Michael Jamison, Dustin Simmons, and Philip Simmons; two nieces, Teresa Duncan and Vanessa Simmons, as well as her most beloved cat “Baby”. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2018 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, Va. with the Pastor Johnny Cook officiating.

Burial will follow in Grave Yard Hill on the Thorn. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be David Jamison, Dennis Jamison, Chad Neil, Brian Puffenbarger, Travis Jamison, Andrew Thompson and Charlie Hoover.

Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends attending. Because of Gearldine’s love of animals, memorial contributions may be sent to P.A.W.S. , P.O. Box 804, Franklin, WV 26807.
