Pastor Gene C. Porter, age 68, of Dayton, Ohio, went to be with the Lord June 7, 2018. He kept busy in his business, Porter’s Touch of Cleanliness, along with pastoring called out Ministry, his work with Project Cure as a counselor as well as working through Wright State Physician’s Brothers to Sisters Coalitions to prevent drug use and teach healthy living in the Dayton inner city. He was known to give an encouraging word and a “healing touch”.

He attended Dunbar High School where he was known to make it happen on the basketball court. Nobody did it better. Preceded in death by his father, John Porter and mother, Dora Porter Davidson; sister, Joyce Saddler; grandmother, Pera Lee Ward; grandfather, Murphy Wade.

He leaves to cherish: his beloved wife of 49 years, Linda Mitchell Porter; daughters, Dionne Porter (Johnny Jr.) Archie, Dashawnn Porter, both of Dayton, Genean Porter and Erinn Porter, both of Atlanta, GA; brothers, John (Judy) Porter of Las Vegas, NV and Melvin (Claudette) Davidson of Atlanta, GA; sister, Evelyn Parks of Dayton; in-laws, Diana and Schnett Harris of Dayton, Kathy and Gerry Barclay of Sacramento, CA, Beverly Fisher of Hinesville, GA; grandchildren, CiErinn Porter, Keenan Kidd, Quawn and Ashlynn Page, Makiyah Porter, Erionn Porter-ton and Darien ton of Atlanta, GA, Keeaira Kidd and Jaden Kidd Madison Porter; great grandchildren, Ny’aira Murphy, Eden ton. Funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Revival Center Ministries, 3011 Oakridge Dr. Visitation 9:30-10 am. Interment Shiloh Park Cemetery.
