GENE EVERETT TYLER, 79, of Lavalette, W.Va. , passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 23, 1939 at Julian, West Virginia, a son of the late Zella Marie and Harrison M. Tyler.

His wife Prisella Tyler also preceded him in death along with one step-son, Dwayne Hannah. Gene served in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from Steel of West Virginia. He was also a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Lavalette.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Celeste Hannah and Christian Hannah; one sister, Shirley Pauley and her husband Delmont, of Huntington, W.Va. ; and special friends Larry Wood and his wife Karen of Barboursville, W.Va. , and Suzie Nicholson of Huntington.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Johnson Tiller Funeral Home is honored to serve the Tyler family.
