Gene’s Obituary Lannie Eugene “Gene” Toole, Jr. 52, of Waycross passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at his residence after a short illness under the care of Hospice Satilla. Gene was born March 24, 1966, he was a native of Waycross and lived here all of his life. He was of the Christian faith and attended Westside Assembly of God (New Life) and Waycross First Assembly.

He graduated as an honor student from Ware County High School in 1984. Honors included the Georgia Certificate of Merit and Waycross Lions Club Academic Honor Society. Mr. Toole graduated from Waycross-Ware County Area Vocational Technical School with a Diploma in Data Processing – Programmer.

He was employed with B & W Enterprises for several years as a computer programmer and technician. He continued to have a passion for computers, technology and reading books throughout his lifetime. As a teenager he enjoyed riding motorcycles and racing go carts as well as building the engines for them.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lannie Eugene “Gene” Toole, Sr.; step-father, Tommy Raulerson; maternal grandparents, Lewis and Evelyn Lairsey; paternal grandmother, Georgie Toole. He is survived by his mother, Margie Toole Raulerson of Waycross; one brother, Jeffrey Glenn Toole of Waycross; one sister, Tonia Faye Bradley and her husband Mike of Jesup, GA; two nephews, Brandon Padgett and his wife Errica of Jesup, Trenton Padgett and his wife Rachel of Jesup; two great nephews, Brody and Graham Padgett; uncles and aunts, Delores Lairsey, L.C. and Charlotte Lairsey, Cecil and Dorcas Tuttle, Phil and Janet Lairsey all of Waycross, Gary and Billie of Hawaii; several other aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. A funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 pm at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed online at www.
