OBITUARY Geneva Purvis October 1, 1932 – December 13, 2018 Mrs. Geneva Kimrey Purvis, 86 of Salisbury, NC passed away at her home on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Mrs. Purvis was born October 1, 1932 in Rockingham, NC. She was the daughter of the late Preston Kimrey and Evelyn Watts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Roy Purvis, Sr She attended Richmond County Schools and worked for many years in the cotton textile industry. After retirement, she worked in the kitchen preparing meals for the residents of AVANTE, as cooking was one of her passions.

Mrs. Purvis enjoyed crocheting in her spare time and loved crafting…if it was new, she wanted to try it. She won numerous blue ribbons for her crafts for many years at the Rowan County Fair. She was of Baptist faith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Roy Purvis, Jr. of Salisbury; daughters, Cathy Purvis of Salisbury and Joalice Weatherford (Tommy) of Salisury. Also surviving is her sister, Mary Elizabeth Holloway of Thomasville, her grandchildren, Crystal Lynette Zink (Jamie) of Salisbury; Roy Lee Hill (Jeanie) of West Virginia and Timothy Weatherford of Rock Hill, SC. She also lovingly leaves behind two great grandchildren, Ryan Zink and Courtney Holshouser.

Funeral services for Mrs. Purvis will be held in the Chapel of Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 1420 North Main Street, China Grove, NC on Saturday evening, December 15, 2018 at 8:00pm officiated by the Reverend Doctor Larry Beaver. Visitation will be at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Burial will be at Noon on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at West Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials made be made to the American Lung Cancer Association, 2020 S. S. Andrews Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316. Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Purvis.
