Celebration of Life George Andrew Reynolds January 15, 1931 – November 25, 2018 On Sunday, November 25th, 2018, George Andrew Reynolds answered the call to rest at the age of 87. George Andrew Reynolds was born on January 15th, 1931, in Selma, AL to the late Mary Davis, née Anderson and the late Sam Reynolds. George grew up in Mobile AL where he made lifelong friendships.

When he entered adulthood, he moved to Chicago, IL and ultimately settled in Gary, IN. … Read More » George was a skilled mechanic who worked on airplane and truck engines during his career. He loved to take things apart and put them back together again.

He also loved learning about history, culture, and geography. George is preceded in death by his father, Sam Reynolds, his mother Mary Davis, ex-wife Mary Reynolds, wife Grady Reynolds; sons George Reynolds, Jr, and Thea Baggsby; sisters Willie Eva Person and Helen Weasel and brother Robert Reynolds. He is survived by his son Garrett Reynolds (Priscilla) of San Diego CA; daughters Ann Reynolds of Detroit MI, Debbie Reynolds of Chicago IL and Latisha Reynolds of Indianapolis IN; brothers Harry (Sherrie) of Akron OH, Bill (Stella) Reynolds of Akron OH, Willie (Michele) Reynolds, Akron OH, David (Francine) Reynolds, of Phoenix AZ; Sister In Law Sarah Reynolds, Akron OH; Grandchildren Jenny, Gary, Ashley, Timisha and Garrett Jr.; extended family that includes the Glover’s, Murphy’s and Van Pelt’s of Chicago IL and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

There is a special place in George’s heart for these incredible individuals he found in his later years and loved so much. Bobbi Pruitt, Charles “Val” Pruitt Jr., and Jackie King filled George’s life with joy and happiness right until the end. A Celebration of Life for George Andrew Reynolds will be held on Friday, December 7th, 2018 at Burns Kish Funeral Home, 5840 Hohman Ave, Hammond, IN, 46320 (219) 932-0260 with Visitation from 10:30-11: 30 am; Funeral from 11:30am-12: 30 pm.

Internment immediately following at Oak Hill Cemetery, 4450 Harrison St, Gary, IN.
