George B. Epperson, age 79, passed away July 28, 2018. He was born in Council Bluffs on October 27, 1938 to the late Haney B. and Ruth S. (Cox) Epperson. George graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1956 and then proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He worked for Pott County Mutual Insurance and Harvey’s Casino. George was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Elk’s Lodge #531 and the Eagles. In addition to his parents he was preceded… Read More » in death by his sister, Margaret Lewis.

George is survived by his wife, Joyce Epperson; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Rita Epperson, Keith and Rhonda Epperson; brother, David Epperson; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation is 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Tuesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment is in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Epworth United Methodist Church, Risen Son Christian Village or Hospice of Southwest Iowa.
