Obituary for George E. McCartney McCartney, GEORGE E. Age 71, of Banksville-Green Tree City, peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, May 11, 2018. Beloved husband of Carol (Rodgers) McCartney; father of Amy Lynn (James) Spezialetti, Michael (Rebecca) McCartney, and Dennis (Sabrina) McCartney; dear grandfather of Christopher, Ryan, Sean, Daniel, Emily, Hannah, Sarah, and Mia; brother of Kathleen McCartney-Feltz, Janet Hilterman, and Eileen McCartney-Cirelli; also nieces and nephews. Son of the late George W. and Idaella McCartney, George was a decorated Vietnam veteran with the US Air Force and a former Pittsburgh Police Sergeant for over 35 years.
He was devoted to his family and spending special occasions at the beach. Visitation Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the SCHEPNER – McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 165 Noble Ave. , Crafton.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Margaret Scotland Catholic Church.
