George Ellis Lister, of Dover, passed away peacefully in his home, Friday, February 1, 2019 . He was 86. George was born December 19, 1932, in Arden, Pennsylvania to the late, John & Rosa (Pritchett ) Lister.

He served proudly, during the Korean War in the United States Army, before working at Playtex in Dover for many years. He enjoyed gardening, and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lister, and their children, Terry Mello, Grace Drake, Joe Byrnes and Paul Byrnes.

George is survived by his grandchildren, Chris Mello, of Floyd, VA. ; Tim Mello & wife, Danielle, of Dover; Eric Mello & wife, Melanie, of Camden; and Ken Drake, of Downingtown, PA. ; and several great-grandchildren.
