Mr. George Eugene Archer, Sr., 89, of Twin City passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Community Hospice in Vidalia following an extended illness. Mr. Archer was born December 6, 1929 in Twin City to the late Chancie Archer and Ollie Grimes Archer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Lee Hester Archer; brother, S. L. Archer; sister, Willette Archer O’Neal; infant son; James Lee Archer.

Mr. Archer enjoyed living life to the fullest. Early on his life he farmed for many years. As his children came along, he became an automotive mechanic, he worked for many dealerships in the south.

He loved fox hunting, fishing, his children and grandchildren. Mr. Archer loved the lord and worshipped him as his health would allow. He was a member of Stillmore Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Archer of Twin City; sons, Lamar (Earlene) Archer and George E. (Regina) Archer, Jr. both of Twin City and Johnny Archer of Acworth; daughters, Deborah Lovett of Swainsboro, Mary Frances Archer of Stillmore, Ronda Willis, Theresa (Randy) Womack, and Genia Ducker all of Twin City; brother, Robert (Hannelore) Archer of Martinez; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral Services will be in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 with Reverend Terry Greer and Reverend George Archer officiating. Interment will follow in Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at Chapman Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jody Hudson, Jay Carter, Nathan Coursey, Jamie Archer, Anthony Archer and Jesse Durden. Honorary Pallbearers are Men of Stillmore Missionary Baptist Church and Members of the United Fox Pen.
