OBITUARY George Franklin Cooper, Jr. June 26, 1946 – July 17, 2018 George Franklin Cooper, Jr., 71, of Henrietta, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in Wichita Falls. A Celebration of Life will be at 10 AM, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will be at 1 PM at Fort Sill National Cemetery with military honors.

George was born on June 26, 1946, in Elk City, Oklahoma to George Franklin and Edna Baker Cooper. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Wanda Pierson on December 23, 1978 in Conroe, Texas.

He worked as a cowboy on the 6666 Ranch and later was a welder and pipefitter. He was a member of the VFW and the Cowboy Church of Henrietta. He loved woodworking and welding.

He was preceded in death by his daughter: Rita Kathleen Engelking; and sisters: Christine Jones and Bernice Jones. Survivors include his wife: Wanda Cooper of Henrietta; children: Kimberly Gorman of Wichita Falls, Marty Cooper, Randy Cooper, Robby Cooper, and Myra Smith all of Louisiana and Melissa Terrell and husband Randall of Henrietta; and a granddaughter: Brianna Swaney of Henrietta.
