On Saturday evening October 20, 2018, George Jacob Allspach Jr., age 95 passed away peacefully at his home in Grand Rapids after a long battle with cancer and is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. George is survived by his wife of 71 years, Edith Krampe Allspach and his sons Mike (Jana), Tim (Jill), and daughters Beth (Steve Gray) and Carol Allspach. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many grand dogs.

George was stationed in Okinawa in WWII. After the war he went to art school on the GI bill and became 1 of only 2 commercial airbrush artists in West Michigan before retiring at age 70. He served as an elder, deacon, Stevens Minister, and a Kids Hope mentor as a member of Standale Reformed Church.

He was a member of Walker Senior Neighbors Bridge Club for many years and served delivering meals for Walker Senior Neighbors Meals on Wheels. He and Edith spent their retirement years traveling extensively and playing cards with anyone and everyone at any time and place. A memorial service is planned for Sunday November 4, 2018 at Standale Reformed Church, with Visitation from 12:00pm to 1:15pm for those who cannot stay for the Service at 1:30pm and a luncheon to immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers (4055 Bulrush NW Grand Rapids, MI 49534,) donations will go to the Grand Rapids Veterans Home.
