OBITUARY George John April 18, 1959 – October 19, 2018 Mr. George John, affectionately known as Achayan Baby, was born on April 18, 1959 to the late K.V Cherian and late Chinnamma Cherian in Mulukuzha, Kerala, India. He was called home by his Savior on October 19, 2018. Achayan Baby is survived by his wife Lali and their two daughters, Jaime and Jennifer.

He is also survived by seven siblings and their families: Mariamma John, Suseela Thomas, Lysamma Mathai, Shylaja Thomas, Chacko Cherian, Saji Cherian and Moni Raju. Achayan Baby came to the United States with his late brother, Varghese Cherian in 1985. After marrying Lali Varghese on June 25, 1987 in India, they moved to Houston, Texas to begin their life together.

He started working at Worldwide Oil Machinery for 10 years afterwards owned several businesses, and finally worked as cashier for Time Wise. Achayan Baby was a devout father, husband, brother, and son. The love and care Achayan Baby gave never went unnoticed, because he treated everyone as if they were a part of his family.

Even during his battle with cancer, he remained a man with strong faith in God, as his heart was filled with an unparalleled level of generosity and compassion that even today continues to flourish in our family. Achayan Baby will always be remembered for his contagious smile and his jokes that brought joy to everyone. His loving hospitality, passion for gardening, and dedication to cooking and feeding those around him, always made people feel that his warm and supportive nature was genuine.

Our hearts are heavy, but we are rejoicing that he is at peace and in heaven with his loving Lord and Savior.
