Gerald A. Eberhart, 80, Cresson, died Wednesday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was born at home in Cresson, son of the late Lewis C. and Carolyn R. (Lilly) Eberhart. He first married Joyce Zabinski, who preceded him in death.

He then married Carolyn Decker in 1961, who survives. In addition to his wife of 55 years, surviving are a daughter, Judy Zabinski of Harrisburg; three sons: Richard of Altoona, Mark of Hollidaysburg and Brian of Altoona; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Rita L. Wilks and Daniel T., both of Cresson. He was preceded in death by six siblings: Donald F., Lewis E., William F., Paul M., Janet Mastalski, and an infant brother, Patrick.

Gerald served in the Pennsylvania U.S. Army National Guard for 25 years. He was employed by Sheetz Corporation, the City of Altoona Highway Department and Blair Senior Services. He enjoyed watching sports.

Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service with full military honors will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard: 132 Locust St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
